FRESNO SPRINKLER GUIDE
Fresno Lawn Watering Schedule: What Homeowners Should Know
Before changing your sprinkler timer, check the City of Fresno’s current outdoor watering schedule. The city currently lists a three-day outdoor watering schedule from April 1 through October 31: odd-numbered addresses water Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday; even-numbered addresses water Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Watering is not allowed on Mondays or between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
A Watering Schedule Cannot Fix Bad Coverage
If part of the lawn is dry while another area is soaked, simply adding more run time may increase waste. Look for clogged nozzles, damaged heads, pressure differences, poor spacing, or a valve that is not opening fully.
Use Multiple Short Cycles When Runoff Is a Problem
On soil or slopes that cannot absorb water quickly, shorter cycles separated by soak time may reduce runoff. The exact runtime depends on the sprinkler type, soil, sun exposure, and landscape.
Check the System While It Runs
At least occasionally, run each zone while you can see it. A controller can operate perfectly while a broken head sends water into the street.
